Solid wood:

Advantages: The solid wood is made of natural wood. With clearly wooden texture on the surface. And warm touch, environmentally friendly, also durable quality.

Disadvantages: Because the solid wood is made of the natural, which require high cost processing and high construction technology requirements, also it should not be placed in an environment that is too humid or dry, otherwise it is prone to deformation and cracking.

Plywood

Advantages: Due to its unique criss-cross structure, the multi-layer board has very good stability, which is not easy to be deformed by moisture and it is good at waterproof.

Disadvantages: As the plywoods need a lot of glue in the production process. The plywoods is not easy to be repaired after being soaked in water and damaged.  It needs to avoid the strong sunshine, humid environment in the maintainance process.

MDF

Advantages: With smooth surface and warm touch, not easy to deform, surface wear-resistant, corrosion-resistant.

Disadvantages: Its moisture resistance is very poor and easy to absorb water, poor environmental protection; MDF has poor nail holding power. Because the dense fibers are very broken, the nail holding power of MDF is much worse than that of solid wood board and particleboard.

Particle board:

Advantages: With good sound absorption and sound insulation performance; it can be finished by various surface treatments, as it has smooth surface, pollution resistance and aging resistance.

Disadvantages: Because the particleboard is made of wood chips and other materials, the edges are relatively rough. If the sealing is not good, it is very easy to absorb moisture and moisture; Because the particleboard is made of wood chips and other scraps and glued together, and the glue will have A large amount of formaldehyde, so the environmental protection is very poor.

OBS board

OBS board is a type of particle board.

Advantages: It has great strength and hardness, high stability, not easy to deform and break. It has outstanding advantages of waterproof, fire-resistant, high-temperature resistance. OBS board can be finished by various surface treatments.

Disadvantages: OBS board is made of block board, which needs to be flattened with glue. The glue contains a lot of harmful substances, affecting people’s health.Also OBS board sometimes leaves potholes and depressions in the production process, result in bad appearance.

When customizing a wardrobe or a kitchen cabinet or a bathroom vanity, the choice of boards is very important. We need to evaluate which kind of plate is the most suitable for us from the perspectives of environmental protection, quality, plate thickness, price, etc.
